Having trouble getting your elementary students to focus in class? Adding physical activities to lessons is a great way to help engage students. Samantha McBurney helps get her students moving by having them spell out words by raising their hands in the air for consonants and down to the ground for vowels. Students felt energized after the activity and more focused afterwards. Allowing kids to to move around and "be kids," can also improve their academic performances!
